The Clark NX-150 and NX-250 Jungle Hammocks are the most spacious solo hammocks that Clark has produced. They are perfect for anyone who finds solo hammocks to be too confining.
The NX-150 is a more spacious version of the
Clark North American model. The NX-250 is based on the larger
NX-200 model. The NX-150 and NX-250 models add flexible fiberglass poles to provide a spacious feeling and quicker set-up. The NX-150 and NX-250 also include a larger rain fly with wind-shedding catenary curves.
What are the differences between the NX-150 and the NX-250? The NX-150 is based on the standard sized North American model. The NX-250 is based on the larger NX-200 model which is one foot longer and 3 inches wider than Clark's standard-sized hammocks. We recommend the NX-150 for those who are up to 6' 2" tall and up to about 250 lbs. If you are larger, or if you just want the most space possible, you should consider the NX-250 hammock.
Do I need a hammock with flexible poles like the NX-150 or NX-250?
There are only three significant differences between Clark's hammocks with flexible poles and those without:
1) The flexible poles add a feeling of space. For example, while the North American and NX-200 models conform to the width of the occupant, the flexible poles of the NX-150 and NX-250 create a width that stays constant whether you are inside the hammock or not.
2) Clark hammocks with flexible poles require no additional ropes for deploying the hammock. Once the main ropes are tied and the poles are inserted, your work is done. This requires a little less practice than hanging other Clark hammocks.
3) The NX-150 and NX-250 each include a rain fly that does not attach to the hammock. Other Clark solo hammocks include a detachable fly that is generally used with the hammock in one convenient package. The NX-250's rain fly must be tied over the top of the hammock separately. Depending on the type of camping you do, you may or may not prefer the independent rain fly of the NX-150 and NX-250.
